By becoming a financial member of the Australian Olive Association (AOA)
you will be doing your bit to financially support and empower the AOA to
represent your interests and to help build a sustainable and profitable future
for our industry.
As a member you are able to join the Australian Code of Practice (COP)
which is governed by the Australian Standards for Olive Oil and Pomace Oil (AS
5264-2011)
Members receive a significant discount when purchasing the Spanish Olive
Growing Manual "EL CULTIVO DEL OLIVO". In 2010 the long awaited olive
growing manual was published. The book is a technical manual for all those
involved in the olive growing sector.
To purchase this book contact Amanda Bailey on (07) 4696 9845.
Being a financial member also means that you receive a discount on entry
into a variety of events that are organised each year by the AOA and State
Bodies.
Via a password, financial members will be given access to the members lounge on
this website, which contains information on labelling requirements, board
summaries, President's reports and technical information. Your membership
entitles you to participate in AOA-organised events, such as conferences and
oil shows, at significant discounts.
Membership is "fair and equitable" - for the 2011/12 Financial
Year the cost of membership is proportional to the size of your property. The
savings you could make by being a financial member are:
Conference ticket x 1 = $33.00
Dinner ticket x 1 = $12.00
EVOO Competition entry x 1 = $121.00
Table Olive Comp entry x 1 = $110.00
Purchase of El Cultivo Del Olivo book = $50.00
TOTAL POSSIBLE SAVINGS = $326.00
The AOA will be reassessing its fee structure for the 2012/13 Financial
Year. The RD&E levy is based on tonnes of fruit so it is sensible that the
AOA implement a fee structure also based on tonnes of fruit. A sub-committee is
currently working on how best to implement this.
